This week on Freethougtht Radio, hear the debut of “Poor Little Me,” the new song written by Broadway composer Charles Strouse (Annie, Bye Bye Birdie) and Dan Barker. Dan and Annie Laurie read editorials in favor of FFRF’s high-school cheerleader complaint that ran in the New York Times, Washington Post, and USA Today. Then we talk with Michael Austin, author of the new book, That’s Not What They Meant! Reclaiming The Founding Fathers From America’s Right Wing. Mr. Deity is a series of satirical short films that parody aspects of religion that have become favorites of skeptics of religion. They are created by and feature Brian Keith Dalton as “Mr. Deity.” We’ll listen to the first in the series and then a new YouTube video by Brian Keith Dalton in which he lays out the case that the Mormon religion founded by Joseph Smith is inherently racist, even if its adherents aren’t. He should know what he’s talking about since he was raised in the LDS Church. Finally, we’ll round out the Halloween edition of SkepSun with several Skeptoid by Brian Dunning podcasts in which he casts his skeptical eye at “shadow people,” the Borely Rectory, Haitian zombies and the Brown Mountain lights.
