On Freethought Radio we hear about Bible verses on middle-school baseball caps and an action alert to protest your tax moeny being used to rebuild churches to after Hurricane Sandy. Dan and Annie Laurie’s guest is Jenna Miscavige Hill, author of Beyond Belief: My Secret Life Inside Scientology and My Harrowing Escape. Ms. Hill, the niece of Scientology’s leader David Miscavige, tells her heartbreaking story of child labor, split families, mind control, and how she found the courage to run away from it all. On Skeptoid with Brian Dunning we learn what Schumann resonances are and whether they lend any credence to New Age spirituality or wellness claims. Is there something special about 7.83 Hertz?  Finally, on Point of Inquiry, host Chris Mooney interviews Mark Lynas a British journalist and environmental activist who parts ways with the environmental left on such questions as GM crops and nuclear power. Can the political left be as hostile to science and irrational on environmental issues as the political right? Lynas is the author of three books, most recently The God Species: How the Planet Can Survive the Age of Humans.
