On this week’s Skeptical Sunday: Rebecca Newberger Goldstein — philosopher, author, and Genius-grant recipient is the guest on the Rationally Speaking podcast to discuss her latest book, “Plato at the Googleplex: Why Philosophy Won’t Go Away.”  Rebecca, Julia Galef and Massimo Pigliucci argue over the value of philosophy in modern science, and whether it makes sense to designate “experts” in ethical reasoning. Then, pop psychology tells us we’re all either left brain dominant or right brain dominant. But is there any science to back this up now seemingly universally accepted understanding, or is it nonsense?  Brian Dunning has a look on Skeptoid. But first, after filling us in on the news, Dan Barker and Annie Laurie Gaylor welcome Ann Druyan, creator/writer/producer of “Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey” to Freethought Radio who talks about how the successful TV science series was made.
